Moving Forward

The chaos is beginning to settle…

Last week was a roller coaster of emotions for me, from happy times, to anxiety filled days and a stressful weekend. It feels like chaos in my head most of the time but since my last post, I have received a wealth of support from my family and friends and I am very thankful for that. The start of my studies at university has been a bit overwhelming, but I am slowly beginning to get into the flow of it all.

I have reached out to my course leader and have had a one to one with her discussing what I have been going through. She has explained that I can go down the path I feel comfortable with and that I can base my work off what I want provided it relates to Journalism which is great news. Luckily as well, the university provides mental health support and I will be receiving extra help throughout the year to help me through everything which a huge weight off my shoulders.

Now that I am beginning to settle into university life, I can start concentrating more on improving my writing and beginning my coursework. I have been asked to go out and search for a news story around the city. This can be anything I want and I am still figuring out what I can do. Thankfully, I have my next lesson tomorrow where I can discuss ideas with my tutor and see what options are available to me. I am actually excited to start the coursework as it will test my current skills and hopefully improve them as I am aware my writing needs more polish, but in time I will learn.

Aside from all the chaos from the last week, I have been enjoying playing my Nintendo Switch. I bought Astral Chain in August which is a Nintendo Switch exclusive and haven’t really got round to playing it as I have been playing other games, but Isabel played it and loved it. Now that I have some time to give it a go, I have to say I am absolutely loving it. It is so unique with its thrilling combat style and compelling story, it really has me gripped and I can’t wait to get back on it after I finish this blog! If you own a Nintendo Switch and have been contemplating getting Astral Chain then do yourself a favor and buy it, you won’t regret it.

Master thrilling combat against an increasingly powerful alien invasion in Astral Chain!

While I have been playing that, Isabel has been on Fire Emblem: Three houses which is another Nintendo Switch exclusive. I have been playing quite a bit of this one. It is a fantastic game that is quite addictive thanks to its very unique story and turn based combat system. It is sort of like playing a teacher at Hogwarts, teaching students combat tactics, leveling up their skills and upgrading armor and weapons. It is very in-depth and I highly recommend you give it a go if you haven’t yet. Isabel is currently addicted to it and once she finishes it and I have finished Astral Chain, I will jump back on it and finish it myself! Nintendo has some amazing games out right now and more on the way this year. I am very lucky to own a Switch as I can play these amazing games.

An incredible Journey awaits in Fire Emblem: Three Houses!

I will continue to update you all with my studies over the course of the year, and I will also do my best to review some new games coming out soon. The next one will be Luigi’s Mansion 3 which I am excited to play so keep an eye out for that one at the beginning of November. I plan to take some more photographs too over the next couple of months. Even though we have had some unpleasant weather, it looks to be turning around so I will take the opportunity to get out and take some nice photographs of things that inspire me. Moving forward is important for making progress in your life, and I will continue to move towards my goals without any more hesitation.

Hope you all have a great week and see you in my next blog.
