Here is what’s going on in my life currently…
I’m back at University!
I started back last week at Sheffield Hallam and so far, it is going well. It feels great to be back, I haven’t walked through the main doors to the building since 2014 when I graduated, so it all sort of feels new but at the same time, familiar.
So if you have been keeping up with my blogs, I’m studying my Masters in Journalism, I want to be a writer, a video game reviewer perhaps as video games are a big passion of mine and I enjoy talking about them. The most recent post I did last week was my review of ‘The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening’ for Nintendo Switch and I thoroughly enjoyed writing about it. As a big fan of the Zelda series, It made me happy that I wrote about one of my favourite games and I hope to do more in the future. This was purely for fun to see how I write and I hope to improve upon it in due time.
If not video game reviews then maybe photo journalism as photography is also a big passion of mine and has been for a very long time. It’s all up in the air right now but currently I am enjoying writing and researching on how to be a better journalist for the type of fields that interest me. Hopefully soon, I’ll have a clearer picture of what kind of journalist I want to be.
So I had my first lesson on Monday, it was an introduction to Media Law and Regulation which is very important if I’m to follow this path to being a journalist. The teacher was friendly and knew what he was talking about it which made me feel confident about the course, as I was having doubts about whether or not this was right for me. I was thinking maybe I should have gone into Creative Writing perhaps but I plan to talk to my tutor tomorrow morning about it all and see what would be best for me. I plan to keep you all updated each week hopefully, provided I don’t get too busy with my studies.
I am very excited to get back in to studying again and learn more on writing for the media. I know it will be difficult and stressful at times but I plan to work hard and give it my all. I also want to write my progress down each week so I can look back at it all in a years time as I’m sure it will bring a smile to my face and many others who read them.
Until next time…
